Sometimes the presentation of the part is critical to a technology’s automation system to work (eg with a fixed mount barcode reader, or a laser marker). Let the supplier know hart the part / product will be presented so that they can make the necessary adjustments to their system to deliver the results you want. For instance will an operator be presenting the part or will it be positioned in a fixture (either by an operator, or a robot)?
How will the product be oriented
If the product is upside down and you are trying to inspect features on the top with a vision system, it would be near impossible … the same can be said for a variety of applications where the orientation of the part is critical to carry out its processes. Eg can it be upside down? Through 360 degrees?
