Creating a solid object from a 3D  CAD model has become extremely easy. There are many ways of doing it, but essentially they all follow the same process:
1.The 3D CAD model of the object is “sliced” into many thin layers and fed to the 3D printer.
2.The 3D printer (through various different methods) prints the model, layer by layer.

3.The layers are bonded together as they are layered on top of each other.
4.Once it is complete, the object is removed.

Did you know that the futuristic Audi’s in I robot were made using Rapid prototyping technologies and a Kuka robot?
